Bloomington (Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana) Evening World, July 7, 1910, p. 1. HOSPITAL WORKS FOR CHARITY Cares For City Patients In Return For Allowance From City Council. At a recent meeting of the city council, some one asked the question: "What direct benefit does the city get from the Bloomington hospital in return for the money the city contributes annually for its maintenance. The answer to this question is found in the number of charity patients the hospital cares for each year. At the meeting of the hospital board yesterday the report for June showed that the hospital cared for three charity patients during that month, the expense bill being $81. The hospital continues to get along nicely under the direction of the able superintendent, Mrs. Peake.
