Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Evening World, October 16, 1916, p. 1. DEATH OF WILLIAM M. KERR After an illness of several weeks of kidney trouble, William M. Kerr, 77 years old and a well known farmer, five miles east of the city died at 1:30 Sunday morning. He is survived by the widow and three daughters; Mrs. Marion Butcher, Mrs. Curtis Barracks, this city, and a daughter in Indianapolis. Mr. Kerr was born in Ireland and was brought by his parents to this county when two years old. He was a veteran of the Civil War and member of the United Presbyterian Church. The funeral was held at the house at 1:30 today in charge of Dr. C. H. Taylor. The body was taken to Rose Hill cemetery for interment. The pall bearers were: Henry Springer, William Hepley, L. W. Shields, James Ransom, T. E. Whisenand and Joel Eaton. Flag bearer: John Back.

FUNERAL OF JAMES TURNER The body of James Turner, who died in Indianapolis Saturday, was brought to this city last night and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Turner, west Fourth street where the funeral was held at ten o'clock today in charge of the Rev. John Ragle. The body was interred at Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, of Indianapolis, were members of the funeral party.

HOWARD KAHN A SOLDIER Howard Kahn, a well known former Bloomington boy, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Kahn, north College Avenue, has given up his newspaper work temporarily and has joined Company B., of the Minnesota Light Artillery and is now with the troops at Llano Grande, Texas. He was on the staff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press for a number of years.
