Thompson, of this city, university swimming coach, who was injured in an accident at Kentland Sunday, was reported Thursday to be slowly improving. Thompson suffered concussion of the brain in the accident in which four student swimmers and Mrs. Thompson were involved. Others riding in the car with Mr. Thompson received numerous cuts and other bruises but were not seriously injured.

Langley, who was an inmate of the county infirmary, was injured when struck by an automobile March 8.

This enumeration, which begins April 2, will gather all phases of information on the farm population in the country. Statistics on farm acreage, crop land, pasture land, woodland, crop rotation, terracing, drainage, farm tenure, farm values, dwelling houses, debt, taxes, expenditures for fertilizer, power implements, machinery and facilities, cooperation in marketing and purchasing, domestic animals, irrigated crops and lands, harvest, value of products, movement of farm population and total farm land owned will be gathered.

MARTIN CHAMBERS DIES Martin Chambers, age 56, died late Thursday afternoon at his home in Sanders, death following a two weeks' illness with pneumonia. Besides the widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Chester Stillions, Mrs. Courtney Meadows, Mrs. Ralph Langley and Miss Eva Lee Chambers; five sons, Guy, Horace, Harry, Ivan and Martin; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Burns and Mrs. Frank C. Cornwell, and one brother, Mart (sic). Funeral arrangements have not been made.

    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Weekly Star, March 21, 1930, p. 3. Ralph McGuire, formerly of this city, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McGuire, 718 S. Rogers St., was buried in Madero, California, Monday. McGuire, who was 24 years old, was shot and killed in a dispute with his employer over wages. He had been in Madera for the past nine years. J. R. Dillon of Oakland, California, ranch and filling station proprietor for whom McGuire worked, is held on a charge of manslaughter.

Relatives of George and Thomas Hacker and Kenneth Deckard, who were killed in 1928 by lightning, are not entitled to receive compensation insurance, according to a decision handed down Monday by the state industrial board, upholding a former decision made by a member of the board. The board held that the killing was an "act of God." The three men and another man were working for Indiana University at the waterworks. The cases may be carried to the appellate court.

This is the third time Mr. Blair has tendered his resignation and the company has refused to accept the same. The resignation of Ira Graves was continued.

    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 6, 1893, p. 4. Herman Perry, one of the bright boys of Capt. Perry, north College Avenue, met with a painful accident Tuesday evening. He was in a tree, when he fell to the ground in such a way as to dislocate his left shoulder bone. The ligaments were also badly torn. Dr. Harris was called and found the injury very serious. The boy is getting along now as well as could be expected.
