    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 20, 1893, p. 1. The trial of Emanuel Rothschild, of which mention has been made daily in the Telephone, ended last night in his acquittal. The jury retired with the case about five o'clock and before seven had agreed upon a verdict. When the jury came into the court room Judge Miers admonished the audience that had assembled that no demonstration would be allowed. The verdict of acquittal was read, as was expected, and as soon as court had adjourned a number of people took occasion to congratulate the defendant, who was almost overcome with joy. The father, who was sitting nearby, when the result of the long trial was announced, ran over to the son and affectionately embraced him. The trial has been in progress since Tuesday, and has been one of unusual interest, both sides making a determined fight. As has already been stated, the charge against the young man was that he had fired his stock of goods to get the insurance. The case came here from Bedford. Constance T.
