The earliest record of the Beard's I have is the marriage of Nathaniel and Zelpha in 1817. Yes, John Cannon was born in 1785. He was listed on the 1850 census. He died in January 1858. I have only one child listed for John and Mary, Lucinda Cannon born 1826 in Kentucky. I don't know of any land they owned in Knox County. Nathaniel and Zelpha were married in Daviess County, I have no other record of residence. Jack Anderson
