Thank you Deah. I really enjoyed the old timers page. I'm 50 something, but I remember visiting a Great Aunt and Uncle in Amsterdam, Missouri and they had cloth tobacco pouch on the pipe where they pumped water in the kitchen (to filter out the sand?) and a two holer in the tree grove.
