    1. Aaron Sharum (1848-1921)
    2. Roger Coltvet
    3. I am trying to tie up some loose ends with Aaron SHARUM, born in 1848 and died in 1921, both in Martin Co., IN. His wife, Sarah Elizabeth WEEKLEY (b.1842 in Washington Co., KY), died in 1881 in Martin Co., IN. We have a photo from 1893 of Aaron with his brother Abner (1853-1942), Aaron's two children (Dora 1875-1948 and George 1879-19??), and a woman with a strong family resemblance who looks to be 30-40 years of age, but we don't know who she is. Possibly Aaron remarried. I have not been able to find Aaron in the 1900 or 1910 censuses. Perhaps the unknown woman would be listed there with Aaron. In 1920, Aaron lived with his daughter Dora and her husband Newton WILDMAN in Center Twp. In 1880, he lived in Perry Twp. Any help with the 1900 or 1910 census or anything else is greatly appreciated. Roger Coltvet

    1. Gootee Family
    2. Today I came across this "puzzle" on the website of Bob Gootee <www.ecosinc.com/gootee/> and thought I would post it since many folks may not be aware of this site and the Gootees were such a prominent part of the town of Loogootee. Who knows...maybe one of you has information that will help unravel the mystery of the parents of Joseph Whelan Gootee who married Sarah Ann Bramble. Thanks for looking! Shirley "Cousins ! Recently I received a page from the Bible of Elijah and Statia Ann Gootee Gorden (Joseph Whalands daughter and son in law)from Virginia and it could disprove my research. It shows the marriage date of Joseph Whaland Gootee and Sarah Bramble as Feb 1791 or 1794 (illegible). It then lists that Andrew Gootee died 10 Sep 1786; Priscilla his wife died 26 Sep 1793 and John Gootee (Unknown) died 8 May 1803. It also lists a Nancy Bramble died 22 Dec 1800 and Thomas Bramble died 30 Apr 1826. None of these entries has an explanation. I need to determine if Ann was listing her Grandparents or other relatives. My research indicates that Joseph Whalands Father was Joseph Whaland Sr. who was a brother of Andrew. My question is, does another Bible exist in the families of Joseph and Sarah children ?? George Sebastian, Thomas Nesbe, Charles Bramble Wheland, Charles Silas or the two sisters that married in the Norris family ?? If so, please let me know so I can obtain accurate data." Note: Anyone with information can go to the Puzzlers section, click on KY and send new information you think might help! Shirley
