As far as I know the grave of Jeremiah Tinkel has not been located. Some of the Tinkle family are buried in Butler Cemetery that is located in Lost River Twp. Mary Tinkle, wife of Jeremiah is buried at Fairview. I have a complete listing of all cemeteries in Martin Co., including the ones at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center I started recording these cemeteries in 1963. The Martin Co. Historical Society helped with the ones at Crane, IN. If I can be of further help to you please let me know. Nancy Baker Shoals, IN
Angel... Do you know anything about Mort Keller, a buddy of my GGF Alonzo Ragle? Mort married Mary Ann Toon, the younger sister of Alonzo's wife Susan Ellen Toon. Here is a piece from Harry Holt's book: Mary Toon [wife of Morton Keller] is mentioned in "Churches of Martin County" by Harry Q. Holt as one of a group of people who encouraged Bud McCarter to seek an alternative to "Keck's Church" for use in worship by Methodists who lived southwest of Keck's Church. The church which was built was on 1.5 acres donated by Alonzo and Peter Ragle 2 miles southwest of Keckville. It was surrounded by a spacious valley and near enough to the Loogootee road for the convenience of the regular and prospective membership... The land mentioned is in Brown TWP, Martin Co. Mort Keller and Mary Ann Toon were m. July 03, 1879. I don't know anything about their children, or about Mort Keller's line, but would very much like to find out more. They are built on land that contains 3 dozen old cemeteries, which they have preserved and inventoried. You can contact them at Crane Naval Depot, Public Relations, (812) 854-1640. They will send you inventories of these old cemeteries. Good luck, John Ragle

In Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/In/Martin/10149 Surname: Noland, Rodenberry ------------------------- My Noland family line arrived in Daviess/Martin County, Indiana after 1825 and migrated to Cape Girardeau County, Missouri after 1835. One daughter Charlotte married John Rodenberry/Rodenbury 1833 and remained in Martin County until after 1870 when they too migrated to Cape County. Several of John and Charlotte's children married into the Street, Gibson, and Inman families. I checked the 1880 census for Cape County and several Alfords were listed. Perhaps this is where your line migrated to along with my Nolands.

I don't personally have this census available to me. If they are not there...I would continue checking different 1860 In census records until I found them, starting with the counties close to Orange Co, since that is where they are listed in the 1870 census. Posted on: Martin Co. In Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Martin/10143 Surname: ------------------------- In Martin Co., IN, in 1873-1878, my great grandparents and family lived in Shoals. I have located them in their migration with the exception of Kemp MARLEY, b. 1855 in IN; who married Miss Susan BECK, b. 7 June 7, 1857 in Washington Co., IN to parents Alexander D. BECK and Catharine HORSEY BECK. Kemp and Susan moved to Van Zandt Co., TX with other Beck family members, and he gave a deposition for the Civil War pension application of his father in law in 1890 from Hunt County, TX. I cannot locate them after that date. The children were Fidella Marley and Harry Marley, as listed in the 1880 Texas Census. Where did they go? Where are they buried? Did they have other children? Did they return to Indiana? I have found no census records that list them. Any help will be appreciated. Texas1933@aol.com
