Hello, my name is Lynda Pense and I am new to this geneology stuff. I am researching the Brown surname(my maiden name). I am looking for information on my great-great grandfather, Sanford Brown. I am not sure of where he was from. All I know is my great-grandfather, Harry Brown, was born around Bloomington on5-8-1886. Harry's parents died when he was very young and he was raised by other people. The Sanford Brown that I am looking for was married to Mary J. Brown. If you have any info that might help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time. Lynda Pense

----- Original Message ----- From: Lindsay Clark Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 9:52 PM Subject: ANDIS/SHROUT/QUEEN/HOLT I have a James C QUEEN born 27 March 1860 in Martin County Indiana. He married Sarah Jane ANDIS b 9 March 1858 in Martin County, Indiana. Sarah Jane ANDIS 1st married Jesse SHROUT in 1874 and they had a son Leroy Sheridan Shrout. Jesse died and she married James C. Queen in 1881 in Daviess County Indiana. They had two children Elva Elizabeth QUEEN and Jacob Melvin QUEEN. Elva was my great great grandmother. James Queen died around 1886/1887 have not been able to find where he is buried or his exact date of death. Sarah then married Jessie James HOLT and they had three boys who were born in I assume Daviess County Indiana Frances, Elbert, and Seigle "Chester". They moved to Tulsa Oklahoma around 1900. I would like to find out more information regarding Jacob Melvin Queen - if he ever married and had children. Someone has told me that they thought Sarah was Indian, but I know back then people did not want to admit that so I don't know if there is a way to prove that or not. If anyone has any information on these names - please let me know. Thanks Lindsay
----- Original Message ----- From: Lindsay Clark Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 8:54 PM Subject: MILLER/ANDIS/FIELDS I am still searching for information on my Elizabeth MILLER born sometime around 1829 in Indiana according to census information. Her 1st husband was James ANDIS b 1822. They were living in Martin County in 1850 and 1860 census records. They had 10 children, Olenia, W.A.C., Mary, Wm, Henry, Isaac, Sarah, Sarepta, Jacob and Sterling. I believe the last couple of children were born in Daviess County Indiana. After James died she married Stephen Fields. On the 1880 census she is married to Stephen Fields and living in Daviess County Indiana and he is a minister. I would appreciate any leads or help that I can get trying to figure out siblings and parents of my Elizabeth MILLER. Someone has e-mailed my indicating that her parents may be Abraham Miller but I don't know. Thank you Lindsay

My new email address is funyfarm@terraworld.net My hit.net address is still active until I get everything changed over, but if you need to contact me personally go ahead and use the new one.
