    1. [INMARTIN] Re: Researching the Following Surnames
    2. Hi Debbie, Some of the names I have in my tree are Keller, Taylor, and Williams. My husband has Cissel, McAtee, Mattingly and Fields. His Bowman line is descended from William Boarman from Maryland. My Williams line has been a complete dead end. I have names but can not find these people anywhere!!!! I have been told they lived in Martin County Indiana but my line ended up in Jefferson County Kentucky eventually. I was also told that my Williams line descend from a long line of Thomas'. I've only come across thousands!!! I have only been able to go as far as my grandparents, Roy Thomas Williams and Marquerite Borders. Marquerite's line was easy to find, but Roy's has not. As far as the Boarman/Bowman line I spoke of, I have a book that lists many of the other names I mentioned as well. If we are looking for the same people I'd be more than happy to share what I have. Thanks! Tish

    1. [INMARTIN] McMillins in Loogotee 1859ish
    2. I am trying to find any information on Harvey McMillin and Barbary Noland who were married in/around Loogotee in 1859. I believe that Harvey worked on the railroad, they had 5 or 6 kids, 4 of which are: Mary, 1860; James, 1862; Martha, 1864, and John, 1870. I know that there are at least 2 others buried in the area, I don't know names or ages. If there is anyway that railroad records can be accessed to find out for sure if Harvey worked the railroad, please let me know. He was listed in the 1860 census for Daviess County as a "teamster." (hope that helps.) This is my brick wall, I'd appreciate any info I can get.

    2. Hi Debbie, Just wanted to say that 6 to 7 of your surnames are also on my research list...most recent being Williams at this time. Looking for Thomas Williams married to Mary Tewell. I was wondering if you've come across any info on them in your research? If you would like I can email the surnames I am also researching. Maybe we're looking for the same people. Thanks! Tish

    1. [INMARTIN] Williams/Tewell located in Martin Co., Indiana
    2. I'm looking for information on Mary Tewell who married Thomas Williams. They are my great great grandparents. I don't have any dates except guessing the time would be anywhere between 1840 and 1900. I don't know whether they were born there but their son, (the only one I know of at this time), George Richard Williams was from Martin County, Indiana. George Richard married Katie Essex, who was from Larue County, Kentucky. If anyone with info on these people would contact me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Lynda > Pense Hi Lynda, There were two Sanford Browns in Martin Co. The oldest one married Elizaaabeth Clemments in Martin Co. 22 Dec 1825. He later married Julia Halbert, 2-11-1836. Here is Sanford in 1830 census of Martin Co. 1 male under 5 1 maale 5-10 1 male 10-15 1 male 15-20 1 male 30-40 2 females under 5 1 female 15-20 1 female 2030 1 feamle 40-50 I think Sanford Brown, Rufus Brown, and Daniel Brown were all brothers. They were old pioneers of Martin Co., and were here in 1820 when Hindostan was made the first county seat. The Other Sanford Brown was my Father's cousin. He was b. 7 Dec 1859 and died 11 Nov 1939. He married the following: Isabelle Wildman, Mary L. Gootee, and last, Harriett Bramble. He was the son of John H. Brown and Mary Ellen Padgett Brown. They are all buried at St. John's cemetery, Loogootee, IN. I do have more info if you will please tell me which of these men you think is your ancestor.
