Hi Charles: I'll see if I can find anything. I was just checking the time frame between 1860 and 1870 last night and it was a fascinating chapter. The author really makes the history of that era come alive. R. R. - I think this might be it Nancy, does the book you speak of only tell stories about the railroads? I have a great grandfather on my mother's side who was a police chief in Indianapolis back in the early 1800's and he was given a bible by the department when he retired. I have given that bible to the Police Department and they are placing it in their museum with my mother's name as the donor. GGfather's name was,Robert Campbell Williamson. Was wondering if there are any stories in the book about his time as an officer.
