I presume you have already seen William Thomas Damewood's obit in the Chicago Tribune. I found a few references to them in the Indianapolis Star which you might like to see. There was also a longer article for the marriage of a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sivley, which the Damewoods attended and lists the guests. Would you like to see that also? _________________________________________________________________ THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, Sunday, February 25, 1912; pg. 31 Mrs. Myrtle Damewood of Chicago re- turned Thursday after a weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Silvey. __________________________________________________________________ THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, Sunday, October 17, 1915; pg. 49 Mrs. William Damewood of Chicago is vis- iting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Silvey and other relatives for a few weeks. __________________________________________________________________ - Ed

    3. Ed, Thanks for your help! I very much appreciate the references below, and would love to have the longer article about the marriage. Yes, I do have the Chicago Tribune obituary. I thought there might be something in the Indianapolis newspaper also, but perhaps not. I recently found in the probate record that the remains were sent to Indianapolis. Perhaps William was buried in a Thompson plot (Myrtle's maiden name was Thompson). Did Indianapolis have city directories for 1943 and after? Thanks again. From the looks of things it would seem that they are likely to be related in some way. I only have access to the Indianapolis Star newspaper from 1908 to 1924 so William Damewood's funeral might possibly be mentioned in the 1943 paper, I don't know. Maybe someone else can answer your question as to whether there was a city directory for Indianapolis in 1943. I would be surprised if there wasn't. __________________________________________________________ THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR, June 20, 1912; pg. 9 The marriage of Miss Hazel Silvey and Leslie W. Brumit was solemnized last evening by the Rev. William C. Carson of the Sutherland Avenue Presbyterian Church at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Silvey, in Broad Ripple. The guests included the relatives and the intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom. The rooms were decorated with foliage and a profusion of daisies and dozens of green and white candles. Miss Dale Martz, a cousin of the bride, played Mendelssohn's "Wed- ding March" for the entrance of the bridal party. The attendants were Miss Grace Sheets, maid of honor; John Eubank, best man, and Elizabeth Ewing, ring bearer. Before the ceremony a pro- gram including the "Meditation," from "Thais," and "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms" was played. Miss Silvey wore a gown of white mar- quisette over messaine and carried white roses. Miss Sheets wore apple green crepe de chine draped with lace and carried white sweet peas and maidenhair ferns. An informal reception was held at the close of the ceremony. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Damewood of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Martz and daughter, Miss Dale, of Dan- ville; Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Ewing of Ridgefarm, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Quick, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Keiser and Mrs. Margaret Herrin and family of Noblesville. Mr. and Mrs. Brumit have taken possession of their new home, 220 West North street, and will be at home after July 10. _______________________________________________ - Ed
