New to the list and looking for local help. I would like to find an Indianapolis newspaper that carried either the story of this death or an obituary of this person. A coroner's death certificate was issued on 1/22/1902. Whom should I contact and which newspapers were published during this time period? The body was not identified correctly and the death certificate was issued for a George Vincent Bohall. Actually, it was his brother Vincent Joseph Bohall who died from coming in contact with an electrical wire. The body was returned to Franklin, IN for burial. Thanks for any suggestions and listers help. Karen Nelson Hangsleben
Hi Karen: Here is the information on how to obtain an obituary from the Marion County Public Library: Indianapolis-Marion Co. Public Library Newspaper & Periodical Division 202 N. Alabama Street P.O.Box 211 Indianapolis, Indiana 46204 (317) 269-1700 Send the name of the deceased, and the date of death. Enclose a check for $1.00 and a SASE. [You might want to check and see if the price has changed.] ************************ You might like to know that Vincent's wife was in newspapers all across the country in 1900 and other years giving a testimonial for Dr. Pierce's favorite prescriptions and golden medical disc. The paragraph listed her as Mrs. Vincent Bohall of Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana.
