Pat, I'll look some more as soon as I can. Right off the top of my head I do have a suggestion. I just got a 1947 Terre Haute phone book, no help in this situation but I learned that those books had an amazing amount of information in them. If you contact the Marion County library I just bet somebody can find her in a phone book from that period. In the one I have they went from house t o house and put down the head of household's name and address even if they had no phone. In the business directory many businesses listed the owners names, not to mention that it's very common to name a restaurant after the owner. It might be as simple as looking up Alamedia's Restaurant. That will give you her address so you have a good clue for concentrating your search. I hope you find her. Her life sounds like it was very sad. It's a shame that she had to be so alone. Joyce
