In the 1880 census, his father was shown as being born in KY and is mother in Indiana, but in the 1900 census both of his parents were shown being born in IN. >There are Hobson's in the 1850 census in Parke County, Indiana, with a >William who was born ca 1840 and the family originated in North Carolina. > I think that may be Ruth Newlin Hobson, widow of William Hobson.
