    3. Marian, I'm working on the Spahr family that came from Switzerland. There were 7 sons & a daughter, each of the sons received separate land patents and settled in different areas. They were: Mattern settled in Washington County, PA abt 1780 Jacob settled in Clark County, Ky abt 1779 Matthias settled in Clark County, Ky abt 1779 Henry settled in Washington County, Virginia abt 1779 John Ulrich Jr settled in Hardy Co., now West Virginia abt 1782 Theordorus settled in Morgan Co., now West VA abt 1783. My direct line, John Spahr, Sr. settled in Ohio County, (W) Virginia around the 1770's. John and Rebecca (Wheeler) Spahr had two sons and eight daughters. John Spahr, Jr was born in 1774 in Ohio County, VA and died 1831 in Wayne County, Indiana. The other son, Joseph Spahr was born in 1785. I don't have any information on Joseph Spahr except for his birth date. I'm not sure if you're connected to any of these Spahr's. There is a book called "Spahrs of Virginia" and it can be found in the Ohio County Public Library Genealogy Room. I've never viewed this book, so can't tell you much about it. Smith, together with his son, Daniel Lincoln Smith, ran a dairy in the early 20th century in Marion County IN. I have a picture of the horse-drawn delivery wagon indicating the company name of "John H. Smith & Son." The Smith dairy farm was near Broad Ripple, 62nd Street and Keystone area. > > John And Ann Spahr Smith had seven children I am aware of: > > 1. Edith who married Bruce Bowlus > 2.
