    3. I was really upset when I discovered the news about this particular funeral home, they handled the funeral for my grandmother. But when I contacted the family (the funeral director had passed away), I found out that they simply didn't know what to do with the records, and she held onto them for several years, and finally disposed of them. It was a tragedy for the researchers here. The Indiana State Library has records from some of the funeral homes who chose to donate their records. I hope this helps some. Have a good one. I am sure there are privacy issues, but there are ways to prove if you are a relative. 3. The result of where to send the records when a funeral home goes out of business is a good question but possibly the Indiana Funeral Home Association would have a solution to this problem if it were known the value of these records. Maybe the word needs to be spread of who would accept the donation of these records. Food for thought and any ideas? Mary K.
