George Washington UPDEGRAFF born October 1846 in or around Lancaster Co Pennsylvania, served in the Civil War and came to Marion Co Indiana after July 1869. Was married in Marion Co Indiana to Matilda ENGLAND on 19 August 1884. No children were born of this marriage. Matilda ENGLAND UPDEGRAFF died prior to census taken for 1900, address of G.W. UPDEGRAFF as 341 Virginia Avenue, Center Twp, Marion Co Indiana., he lists himself as a widow. He was a shoemaker by trade. George W. UPDEGRAFF died 19 October 1911 and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis Indiana. Am interested in learning about Matilda ENGLAND, wife of George W. UPDEGRAFF. When I've gone to the Library I have found that they started about that time.
