Hi Everyone, I'm trying to locate a death date for my g-aunt. I last found her on the 1930 census in Center Twp, near southside. She was alive as late as 1938. Was also married a few times so I'm not positive of her legal last name: Miranda May TALLEY-SETTLES-STEVENS-WENDAL One daughter, Violet, married in Marion County in 1926 to a Bernard SUMMERS. Thanks for your help, Cathy

According to my GG Uncle's marriage application, his dad Edward Smith, was born in Dromore, County Tyrone, Ireland. His wife was born there too, and she has a birth year of 1860. I don't know anything of Edwards family except his oldest daughter's baptism certif. shows an Eleanor Smith as one of her sponsors/Godparents. I don't know how Eleanor fits into the scheme of the family tree. Seeing how he died between census, I can't find him. I am sorry Theresa. I hope you find your link to your Smith family. This is a shot in the dark but sometimes brings surprises. Do you know any of Edwards Smiths brothers and sisters. I am looking for a James A. Smith born in Indiana on 27 September 1856. He was around Indianapolis between 1885 and 1926. He was married in 1885 and died in 1932, so I know those dates are ok. His children were placed in the Guardians Home when his wife died. Thank you. After years of trying to find my GG Grandfather, Edward Smith, I found out his occupation. He worked for the streetcar of Indianapolis. I found this info on his son's marriage application filled out in 1911. Family lore had it that Edward's wife died of wounds from a streetcar accident. I found from her death certificate she died from colon cancer. I am assuming the family lore was twisted, and that it was Edward who was hit by a streetcar. I would LOVE to confirm this assumption ! Does anyone know of a web site, or any organization that has records of the street car history/employees/accidents in Indy.? I know he died late 1884 or 1885, via his wife's obit in 1931. I don't know where he is buried , nor do I have a marriage date/location. TY so much----------------------Cece

I am looking for information about Dr. Fred Emerson GIFFORD. I am trying to determine whether he was the Dr. Fred Gifford that was briefly married to my g-grandmother, Ruth DUNWELL EASTMAN VanMETER in the 1920s. Was there a popular spot for eloping near Indianapolis at that time? Any help or suggestions are welcome! Thanks, Cindy

Does anyone remember a Lutheran Church at the corner of Jefferson and Brookside Avenues, What was the name of it. I find that my great grandmother's funeral was there in 1913. Any information would be very much appreciated. Pam "Genealogists never die, they just lose their Census"
