Oh, all right, I know where you're talking about now. I have a cousin named JoAnn Milto, who has a lot of relatives buried in Catholic Cemetery and in West Ridge Park (used to be another Floral Park, I believe, but in Clermont). Thanks! Hi Jo Ann: Crown Hill Cemetery on East 38th Street was formed ca 1865. The oldest known cemetery started out ca 1818 and was known as City Cemetery and evolved into Greenlawn Cemetery. They stopped burying there ca 1919 and was closed and moved by the 1930's. Crown Hill Cemetery has their burials online at the following URL: http://www.crownhill.org/cgi-bin/db_search.cgi There was also the Mount Jackson Cemetery that was formed ca 1890 or before. They are located next door to Floral Park at the corner of Tibbs Ave and Cossell Rd. Their burials are listed at the following URL: http://www.waynefire.org/trustee/cemetery/dbase.htm Nan Nancy Lee White County Coordinator for Marion and Ohio Counties INGenExchange and County Coordinator for Hardin and Union Counties OHGenExchange http://www.genexchange.org/county.php?state=in&county=marion http://www.genexchange.org/county.php?state=in&county=ohio http://www.genexchange.org/county.php?state=oh&county=hardin http://www.genexchange.org/county.php?state=oh&county=union Volunteers have a warm fuzzy feeling! Another article about the House of Refuge was written by Rev. William W. Hibben using the nom de plume of 'Jefferson' and published in the Indianapolis Sentinel on Nov. 7, 1871, page 3, col. 1-2. The HUFF`s are at Ebenezer/ Fall Creek cemetery. Established by a Lutheran colony in 1836, it is located East of Keystone at 4160 Millersville Road, Indianapolis. Marilyn Barber has created a excellent website which you will have to copy and paste into your browser. http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~ebenezerfallcreek/ Go to cemetery readings, and clicking on name reveals tombstone picture. Marilyn Barber has added most of the early church records, and many family histories. An excellent site! On Father`s Day, June 18th, at 2 P.M. the Clarence Cook chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, will be dedicating a new stone for Revolutionary War Veteran, Jacob Ringer Senior. Re-enactors will have a short service with taps and musket salute.. You might try contacting the Indiana State Library. They have city directories for that time period. Indianapolis was a large city by that time and there were probably hundreds of churches so you would need to narrow it down a bit more than this.
