    3. I am really excited about your find. I descend from Samuel Inman, son of Meshach, who eventually settled in Perry County, TN. Samuel was born ca. 1767. Your Ezekiel (if this is the right Ezekiel) may have been Samuel's son. Or, your Ezekiel may have been the son of Samuel's brother, Lazarus Inman. Samuel and Lazarus' grandfather was named Ezekiel. That name has been an argument for some time now. Some researchers claim the name was Ezekiel; some claim that it was John; some claim that it was Ezekiel John. I favor the Ezekiel argument since both lines contain the name "Ezekiel". On the other hand, the name "John" is also prevalent. There is also an argument as to where the three brothers (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego Inman) originated. Some claim England; others claim that they were born in Maryland. Abednego appears on a ship passenger list from England in 1765. I am beginning to favor the Maryland argument and I am scouring the area around Frederick. The boys may have been sent to England for their education. Shadrach and Abednego were wealthy men. Meshach (from whom I descend), was killed by Indians while on a hunting expedition. The Harding name in your find is very interesting because the mother of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego was Hannah Harding or Hannah Hardin. It is conceivable that the Harding in this deed entry may have have been a cousin of the Inmans. I invite other list members to comment on this.
