This was posted on the Jasper County, Missouri discussion list. I find it interesting because of the Spencer connection (of course). This Marr family intermarried with the Bunch family I'm always talking about. One of the Marrs married one of the daughters of JAMES BUNCH and MILLY CATHERINE SPENCE BUNCH of Jasper County. He was several times mayor of Joplin and they raised their eight children in Joplin. He died in Joplin on December 30, 1904. His daughter, Gertrude Louise was married to Harry Avery Marr on November 11 1907, from the Spencer home on Moffit Avenue. Is that house still standing? I have a photo of it. Harry Avery Marr was the son of Nicholas Hinton Marr and Lillian Mae (Avery) Marr. Nicholas was owner, operator of the Nicholas Marr Whosale and Retail Grocery Store in Joplin. Can anyone give me an address for that store, or an address for their home in Joplin? Nicholas and Lillian Mae had eight children. Any help appreciated.
