I was asked to forward this to the mail list for help. If you DO HAVE any input for this researcher please respond. ===================================================================== My Aunt just forwarded an interesting letter to me. The gist of it is that Ethelyn Inman Brown is supposedly descended from John Tilley one of the Pilgrims. So far I haven't found anything to confirm or deny this contention. The dates of the the Pilgrims and John Tilleys descendents are such that the relationship would have to be through the distaff side of the family not the Inmans directly. It would have to be through the Bennetts, Grants, Spraggs (Spragues)or Cranmers. Edward Inman's mother would have predated the Pilgrims and the Bulls and Rutters are 1st generation who can be traced back to England without going through any Pilgrim ancestors. I did run across some confusion around Edward's possible 1st wife, Elizabeth Hopkins. If her father was William Hopkins, he may have been a brother of one of the Pilgrimss (Stephen Hopkins). In fact Stephen Hopkins had a daughter Elizabeth (common name) who disappeared/died about the time that Edward's 1st wife was supposed to have died. Supposedly, Stephen Hopkins' daughter died unmarried but what I have read so far seems only tentative on that. Have you seen or heard anything about this supposed Inman--Pilgrim connection. Is there anyway you could query the other researchers for me and find out if they know anything about this connection? I would really appreciate finding out one way or another. --- This email is going to Jim's email list and to the Rootsweb List which is why you might get two copies.
