    2. The Inman Compendium Mail List
    3. Greetings, everyone. Just wanted to take a minute to remind you that summer is fast approaching. I have already been contacted by one family member letting me know about a family reunion. So it is time to start posting the dates for the several reunions throughout the country. I am asking that when you find out about an Inman family reunion you send me the details. I will post them on Page 2 for all to see. The main page has undergone a big change. The site counter was so slow that the loading process was taking minutes rather than seconds. It is gone and a new counter is in place on all pages. If you find one of the old text counters please let me know so I can get rid of the thing. The new counter is very fast and loading is dramatically improved. Also, I have changed the front page to include a mini site map on the left side as your navigation tool. I kept getting email where people aksed me about items that were online. So I figured they couldn't find what they were looking for. This is an attempt to help everyone know what is available and where it is. It was at first set up as a Java applet. That, too, was taking too long to load. So I just copied the format into standard web language. It takes up a lot of length but only takes a second to load. In my searching the web I see many more Inmans are setting up their own web sites. Please don't forget to keep me updated on your finds. I am looking for people to help with the research and/or data processing of this web site. There is so much new data coming online that I am having a hard time keeping abreast of it all. I would like to find people to take on a single state, or two, and search the web looking for records, articles and data for that state. Then they could send me that data in text files so that it could processed for the web site. Any help would be appreciated. Don't forget the search engine. I have set up a search engine to search the whole web site or just certain directories. If you want to search for someone in the census records, there is the main search button on the search page AND a button to search just the census records. There is also a search button on the main census page. You can do your search from the census page. The separate search buttons are available for the abstracts, articles, cemeteries, census, vital records, sketches and wills pages. If there is an area of the family history that you would like to see addressed, please let me know. I have tried to cover every area that will give definite and positive leads in our family search. If you have any ideas, drop me a line. Please be sure to let me know if you have changed servers so I can update your email address. Thanks. JIM --- This email is going to Jim's email list and to the Rootsweb List which is why you might get two copies. Please go to http://inman.surnameweb.org/guest/guestlist.html if you wish to be removed from this list. If you have questions you can email me at inman@surnameweb.org.
