    3. I am a little at a loss as to what to do with the following message. As you can see from his last message, I can't reply to him since he refuses to listen. So I turn to you in hopes that maybe blowing off steam will help. The name of the researcher is deleted. But the name of the person in the correspondence is all that I ever saw. From this veil of anonymity he flames me, insults another researcher and refuses to help to set straight records that he says are inaccurate. People often ask why I go to all of the trouble to keep this site going. Here is a prime example. When I first started, I ran into a lot of people who refused to share data on the premise that it was their's, they got it and I can't have it. So I chose to find a way to make research material universal rather than proprietary. I have had my motives and intentions questioned before. I have had people tell me that I am doing it all wrong. But they have inevitably shared and helped me in the end. Here is the exception. I was going to suggest that all of you could write to beaconpt and tell him what you thought of his behavior. But he has already chosen his position. So this is what I have gotten out of his tirade. I am glad that I am doing what I am doing. I am glad that I have made contact and friends with over 300 Inman researchers around the world. I think that the rest of us have made tremendous progress, in less than 30 years. I think I am better off working with all of you fine people than with this one person. And I thank you for your support. No response is expected. Following is the thread of the messages between me and beaconpt. ================================= I would be interested in talking to you about your Inman line, wherever it is from. Please visit my site below and then contact me. This line is included in my database. Jim Williams ======================= beaconpt wrote: Jim, My Inman connection comes from James Campbell who m. Hannah Inman in Jefferson County, Tennessee in 1794. James is the brother to David Campbell who m. Peninah Modrall in the same county in 1796. I trace my lineage to David; however I have much on the Inman family including Shadrach, Mesach and Abednego, father and uncles of Hannah. Secondly I have some on the descendants of James and Hannah. I have just taken a look at your website and it is full of gross mistakes on Campbell/Boggess/Inman lines. You have unfortunately made a mistake by referring and taking information from ***** *****. I have notified these people that they are putting out the wrong information; however no corrections have been made. I don't know if you are interested, but I have been researching this family for nealy 30 years. The garbage that Winch has put out is a slap in the face of someone who does physical research. Their speciality is taking information from undocumented sources and passing it along without having confirmed that information. I know this to be true because the lineage you are now displaying on your site is my early work. He obtained this from a LDS Modrall cousin who lives in Penticton B.C. to whom this work had been submitted for corrections, additions, deletions. JAC ================= I am very intersested in your work. My site tries to put out the best available information for the benefit of researchers. Source material is included wherever it is available. Unfortunately I do not always get the data. If you wish to help me correct these problems I would appreciate it. However, before I make any changes I expect to have the source material to include in the database at the same time. Let me know how you want to proceed. Thanks for writing. -- Jim Williams ================ beaconpt wrote: With regards to your site. Yes I am sure that you would like 30 years of grunt work, blood, sweat, excessive amounts of time and money and energy in research material handed to you with no effort on your part. I think the best that I can suggest is that you continue to pull unsubstantiated material from the *****/***** and from others of the same ilk. My time is much too valuable to contribute to an effort or lack of effort as poor as this. My work on this lineage will soon be published and I can assure you that material from your site nor the ***** debacle will be included. Don't bother to answer this e-mail. Any reply will be automatically deleted. beaconpt" <beaconpt@email.msn.com> --- This email is going to Jim's email list and to the Rootsweb List which is why you might get two copies. Please email inman@surnameweb.org if you wish to be removed from this list.
