Wow. I descend from the Bennetts in 3 different ways: Inman, Carpenter (on my father's side) and on my mother's side--Richard Bennett and Edward Bennett of VA. The Bennetts were a great merchant family in London, or so I've been reading. One of my big tasks this year is going to involve (hopefully) connecting these southern lines with the New England lines. I think that they were all cousins. I still think that Edward Inman was in Virginia before turning up in Rhode Island.
