    1. From the Listowner: Let's start talking
    2. Dr. Barbara Inman Beall
    3. These lists have been extremely quiet lately. Let's start talking. Guess I'll get the ball rolling: 1. Has anyone seen the fellow on the golf tour (Joe Inman???) (at least I think his first name is Joe). Does anyone know which Inman line he descends from. 2. There is also a Spence on the golf tour. I think that he is from Australia. 3. I went to a mountain cemetery a couple of weeks ago above Conifer with several DAR friends. No one had ever catalogued the cemetery before, so we took it upon ourselves to do the job. Some of the surnames include Gray, Williams, Brooks, and other names that intermarried with the Spence line along the way. I think that some of these people came from Texas. I don't know the whole story about them as yet. 4. Clyde Hood told me that the Moss Springs Cemetery in Jasper County, MO now has a new fence and a paved road into the cemetery, making access much easier. The court battle over cemetery access must be over. This was good news; however, I may not be able to talk my husband into ever taking me there again. 5. My fall classes have started (all 7 of them). Don't be disheartened by the news. I plan to spend Tuesday and Thursday late mornings/early afternoons researching and writing. Hopefully, I can finish that "Twigs of Inman & Spence rootsweb article I've been working on. 6. One last thing. My day does not go well unless I watch the morning news while eating breakfast. I was watching the business news this morning and a stock analyst appeared on the screen by the name of Scot Kessler. I just sat there and blinked; I thought I was staring at a young version of my Grandfather Spence. Grandpa didn't look like the Spences at all; he looked like his mother's side of the family--only I didn't know whether she favored the Kesslers or the Wings. Well, this man's surname was Kessler, and he looked exactly like my grandfather when my grandfather was in his thirties. So the answer to that question is "Kessler". I suppose that this Scot Kessler is some distant cousin of mine. Relatives turn up in the strangest places.
