My server has asked me to find another home for the database. It seems the size of the main file was so large that it was adversely affecting the speed of the main processor. This may explain why the retrieval speeds for the pages has been slowing down. So effective immediately, you may find yourself being redirected to the new home of the database, Rootweb's WorldConnect Project. I uploaded a new file to both sites yesterday. This will be the last update to the old site and the beginning at the new home. There is a different look and indexing system. I have no control over that. But fortunately, there will be no loss of information. Our cousin, Randy Winch, has made some modifications to the program so that all data will appear onscreen. The major difference will be in the links to photos, articles and researchers. These will eventually appear in the new database, but I will have to enter them into the database manually. Please be patient. I have not decided what to do about the researchers links. The new system has Post-Ems (like a yellow note-pad in the office). This allows people to add links on their own. but I can't decide if I want them to show there or on the main screen. As I complete the links I will let you know that it is all finished and then you will need to change any bookmarks you have to the new database. Please go and look around and get used to the new system. The URL is: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~inman_compendium Also, we outgrew the hard drive on the server and we were moved to a larger drive. When the files were moved some got messed up. The server made some changes to files on the server and serveral scripts - mail board, subscriber's list and guest book - were not working. They have been fixed and were operational as of this morning. Sorry for the inconvenience. But it is a positive sign of growth. Things have been very quiet this month. I have not recieved much in the mail. I hope everyone is doing well. Please remember me in your Inman research. JIM --- This email is going to Jim's email list and to the Rootsweb List which is why you might get two copies.
