Just thought I'd throw in another Inman example - My (5th) gr grandparents: she was the daughter of an American Rev War Captain whose wife's family was German. He was a Hessian Soldier who was captured at Trenton. They moved to Union County PA and their first daughter married Israel Inman from Hanover PA. Family was bilingual for at least 2 more generations. Do wish I could learn more details to make a good story to write.
