Several years ago, someone sent me a stack of information--files, documented articles, etc. concerning the Sprague and Greene Families (who intermarried with the Rhode Island Inmans. I think this person must have lived somewhere around Topeka because the library articles were stamped from the Topeka Library. I think that I may have received these files in 1997. At the time, I was working on my dissertation. So I put the material in my file cabinet and actually forgot it--until this weekend. I was rearranging my office and filing all of my genealogical data into notebooks (all 65 of them). I pulled open the file cabinet drawer and found all of this material. Not only does it address the Sprague and Greene Families--but many of these other families I am currently chasing; i.e. Bartlett. I think that I am going to find a lot of answers in that material. Thank you again, whoever you are! Linda, I am a different Barbara, but have access to the book about Cocke County, Tennessee. What are you interested in? Barbara Faig Gatlinburg, Tennessee
Barbara, I saw your post in reference to the(Source: John Mack Faraqher. "Daniel Boone: The Life and Legend of An American Pioneer." New York: Henry Holt & Co. 1992. Also, Wheeler's NC History. Topic, the Cutbearth Expedition of 1768.) I had come across the story once that sited it from "Over the Misty Blue Hills; The Story of Cocke County, Tennessee, pp. 101-102" I never did get around to trying to locate the book, so I was wondering if anyone out there has seen that information. I believe the book was by Ruth Webb O'Dell or O'Dill. Just curious. Thanks. Linda
this concerns the old "Daniel Boone" story. Source: John Mack Faraqher. "Daniel Boone: The Life and Legend of An American Pioneer." New York: Henry Holt & Co. 1992. Also, Wheeler's NC History. Topic, the Cutbearth Expedition of 1768. These books reference two specific Indian attacks on a Daniel Boone expedition. The first, May, 1769 specifically mentions the men who were with him--and the Indian brothers were not included. The second, October 9, 1773 specifically names the men who were with Daniel Boone and who were either wounded or murdered--no Inman brothers. However the Cutbeard expedition may provide the answer. Benjamin Cutbeard was an old hunting companion of Daniel Boone. He was also a good friend of John Stewart (who had married Boone's sister Hannah). Cutbeard and Stewart took a party of hunters some time during 1768 and they hunted and trapped for several months in Tennessee. They sold their catch in New Orleans; however, on their return home, they were attacked and robbed by Indians. Several members of that group (names not mentioned) were killed or wounded. THIS is probably the Daniel Boone story that has been handed down through this family. They weren't hunting with Daniel Boone. Instead, they were hunting with Daniel Boone's brother-in-law and his best friend! Barbara Dr. Barbara Inman Beall, Ph.D, BIBeall@email.msn.com, BBeall43@yahoo.com Lancaster-Wormiston Press P.O. I've started adding documentation to the charts at my "Twigs" website. Also, I have started adding additional children, etc. for these people. If you visit the site and click on the family icon in each box, that will take you to the family group records. A lot of that is already finished on the Inman chart. I was able to get most of that accomplished when I was entering data into the computer program that I use. However, this is an older program, and I ran out of memory. So I can go through the charts at the website and do it manually. I will have to do the whole thing manually with the Spence chart. All of this is going to take a long time. School started today, so genealogy has taken a back seat to that. However, I plan to work on the charts each day until I feel that the whole thing is fairly complete. If you click on the person's name, you will get the individual data on that individual plus access to the sources. If you click on the family group icon, you will get the family group record. No, I didn't get vol. 2 of the rootsweb "Twigs" journal written. I've been too busy doing this. But that is something else I plan to start working on. Hi List, Please disregard my previous message on finding the parents of Mary Inman of RI. I have since found out on another list that Inman was the surname of her first husband, and not her maiden name. Someone from the Streeter list has since come on and given me all the information on her. Thank-you all anyway. If I can be of any help, let me know. Sue macduff@citrus.infi.net
Hi List, I am wondering if anyone has been able to verify the parents of a Mary INMAN. She married Joseph STREETER. Mary was born in Cumberland, Providence, RI about 1725. She married Joseph STREETER on 4 March 1752 place unknown. I also do not have place and date of her death. Joseph STREETER was born in Wrentham, MA on 5 Jul 1719. His parents were Joseph STREETER and Elizabeth TITUS. Joseph died, place unknown on 8 Aug 1778. Joseph and Mary had about 7 children; Barzillai (my relative), Nathan, Ebenezer, Rebecca, Eleazer, Johnston and Enoch. Any help in verifying who Mary is, her parents, and her marriage and death would be appreciated. I have some documentations on the Streeter family and then the Richardson family that they married into. I will be happy to swap some of my documents for any of the documents I am searching for. Thanks in advance for any of your help. Sue macduff@citrus.infi.net

Okay, it's ready. Yours Truly finally learned how to create gedcoms with the genealogy program I am using. My "Twigs of Inman & Spence" website now contains the gedcom files for these people: Inman, Spence, Kessler, Clay/Klee, Snyder, Hopper, Kerr, Sterns, Perry, Hunter, Parker, Lee, Stillians, Coffman/Kauffman, etc. I pulled the pedigree charts that were in the file cabinet. Go to the homepage of the website and click on the files in the Family Tree Section. You will see the entire "bunch". I still have some work to do, but I noticed that making changes and additions will be simple. I need to add the documentation into the notes section, but that part may have to wait until spring break. Attention Inman followers: I followed out the speculation I posted to the list recently concerning Abraham Inman as the father of Ezekiel. This "theory" seems to be heading in the right direction--so I put that line on my website. I will add an article to that website explaining my reasons. Anyway, enjoy! If you need access to the website, send me an e-mail requesting access and I will put in a request. I finally finished entering that genealogical data into my computer program concerning my mother's family. I say "finally" because while deleting some information the other day, I accidentally deleted the entire project and had to start from scratch. I want to scan the pedigree charts onto my "Twigs of Inman & Spence" website--and that will take a few days. School starts next week; i have to attend an orientation tomorrow. My scanning project, hopefully, will be finished by some time Monday. I will let you know when they are ready for viewing. Richard Inman is my husbands grandfather, he died in 1902 when his son Estes was 2 years old. Estes is my husbands father. there has never been much info about this side of the family. It seemed a shame to just let them be forgotten. Samuel married Hannah Bailey, Richard married Bettie Thompson and 'Estes married Flora Watson. If you could please send me the info you have it would be greatly appreciated. I have info on the children of Richard and Bettie. There is also a lot of info at the Barton Cemetery in Barton, Al/
