    3. I finally got the tune fixed on the "Twigs" website so it won't take "ten hours" to load it. Check it out at http://twigs-of-inman-spence.rootsweb.com Also, I am locked inside the campus library this week, conferencing with students. When I "come out for air" by the weekend, I plan to finish the "gatewaying" project for the GenConnect boards for Inman, Spence, Spencer & Hopper (the 4 I sponsor). When that is ready, all messages posted to those GenConnect boards will automatically post to these lists. 3. Good morning to everyone, as summer approaches it was time for spring cleaning. As a family member went through a storage shed a newspaper article was found, unfortunately the name of the paper and also date was cut off. It should be around 1902 in the Anna, IL newspaper. Mortuary. Died, at her residence in Anna, Illinois , Friday, November 14, 1902, Mrs. Martha F. Inman, wife of M. M. Inman, aged 68 years, 6 months and 21 days. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 16, and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. Smith. The remains were interred in the Anna Cemetery. Mrs. Inman had been a sufferer for years, but bore it patiently. She was a good Christian woman. She joined the Baptist church in 1850, but later joined the Methodist Episcopal church, of which she remained a consistent member until her death. Martha Francis McCurdy was born April 23, 1834, in Newton county, GA. She was married to Murphy M. Inman near Dalton, Georgia, July 9, 1850. She removed, with husband and three children, to Anna, June 30, 1856, where she resided until the day of her death. She was the mother of twelve children, six sons and six daughters. All of the daughters and one son have preceded here to the great beyond. The surviving sons are Iva F. Inman, of Denver, Col, now at Santa Monica, Calif. Isaac Irwin, of Pyramid, Col.; David H. H. at Yuma, Arizona; Dr. M. M. Inman, of Quitman, Ark., and C. Ira Inman, of Whiting, Ind. The two latter were present at the funeral. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Susan A. Goddard, of Murphysboro, Ill., and Mrs. Sarah J. Head, of Rose Bud, Ark. Letters were received from David H. and Iva F. Inman by the father stating their inability to get home in time for the funeral, and expressing deep sorrow at the loss of a beloved mother. Along with the newspaper article, a photograph of Murphy M. Inman taken in June 8 1883 plus tons of other photos, but, no names or dates were put on the pictures. We have no idea as to who these people are. Hope this information helps someone in there search. Lisa

    1. VIRUS WARNIG from The Inman Compendium
    2. The Inman Compendium Mail List
    3. I just received an email from a fellow Inman researcher. It was a virus that has attacked her system and her email list in Outlook Express. This means that some of you may also have received this email. It has a file attached called Pretty Park.exe. DO NOT click on this file. You should NEVER click on an .EXE file in email unless you know what the file is - regardless of who sends it to you. The sender does not know it is being sent and you are the victim of a computer hoax and virus. I have copied the page from McAfee.com about this virus. If you have this on your system, then you should get a virus cleaner and check your system. I hope this helps. Sorry about the earlier blank message. I hope you only got it once. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Virus Characteristics *March 2, 2000 Update: AVERT has received numerous samples of this Internet worm. Many users reporting this worm are also users of Outlook Express. This is the unpacked edition of the originally packed W32/Pretty.worm Internet worm.* This is an Internet worm that installs on Windows 9x/NT systems. It arrives via email from affected users who have also run this Internet worm. It appears as an icon of a character from the animated comedy series Southpark. Emails containing this Internet worm have this format: ------------- Subject: C:\CoolProgs\Pretty Park.exe Test: Pretty Park.exe :) ------------- Attached is the file Pretty park.exe and in some cases Pretty~1.exe. This worm will try to email itself automatically every 30 minutes to all email addresses listed in the Windows address book associated with Outlook Express. A second function of this worm is that it will also try to connect to several IRC servers and send data packets to the connected server. While your system is connected to the Internet, it is sending and listening to random ports on both UDP and TCP ports. The range is from 1000 to 4900 (or at least so far in testing) and is a random assigned port. First it will choose a random port on UDP and/or TCP, then it will listen to that port, next it will respond with a packet to that port then close it. This happens approximately once every 30 seconds or so. The time intervals are not specific and appear to be random as well. In testing, the following IRC servers are connected to just for a few seconds and are also chosen at random: banana.irc.easynet.net:6667 irc.ncal.verio.net:6667 irc.stealth.net:6667 irc.twiny.net:6667 irc1.emn.fr:6667 krameria.skybel.net:6667 mist.cifnet.com:6667 zafira.eurecom.fr:6667 While connected, this worm tries to stay connected by sending information to the IRC server, and will also retrieve any commands from the IRC channel. While on the determined IRC server, the author of this worm could use the connection as a remote access trojan in order to get information such as the computer name, registered owner, registered organization, system root path, and Dial Up Networking username and passwords. Users should download 4067 DAT set or above for detection and removal of this Internet worm. --- This email is going to Jim's email list and to the Rootsweb List which is why you might get two copies. 3. If you visit my "Twigs of Inman & Spence" site at Rootsweb, you will notice the disappearance of "the tune" from the front page. 1. Re: Amasa Inman
    2. Barbara Beall
    3. I name immediately caught my attention in your message: Baldwin. And I am a descendant of Edward Inman of Rhode Island. Years ago, while sorting through papers belonging to my Grandmother Inman (Adelia Viola Clay Inman--1869-1951), I stumbled across an old land deed. The contents of this deed follow: "The United States of America, To all to whom these presents shall come, greeting: Whereas, FREDERICK M. BALDWIN of Lasalle County, Illinois, has deposited in the GENERAL LAND OFFICE of the UNITED STATES, a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Decorah, whereby it appears that FULL PAYMENT has been made by the said FREDERICK M. BALDWING according to the provisions of the Act of Congress of the 24th of April 1820, entitled "An act making further provision for the sale of the public lands," for the West Hlaf of the NorthEast quarter of Section nineteen, in Township ninety four, North of Range seventeen ----in the District of Lands formerly subject to sale at Decorah, now Osage, Iowa, containing 80 acres....." The deed is signed by Thomas J. Albright on behalf of President James Buchanan and is dated the 15th of January 1858. I asked my father about the identity of this Frederick M. Baldwin. He told me that he was some sort of cousin of his father, Loren Waiste Inman (1870-1942). Well, I have never figured out the exact connection. I still have the deed. It is framed on the wall of my office (a dark spot where it is kept out of the light). Several years ago I tried to find out some information on this Frederick M. Baldwin at the Denver Public Library. I checked out the History of LaSalle County, Illinois and learned that he was originally from Connecticut. It is funny that you would ask this question because I was about to launch into a big investigation of this Baldwin ancestry. Frederick M. Baldwin may have been the forerunner of the Inman expedition into Iowa. Barbara Dr. Barbara Inman Beall, Ph.D, BIBeall@email.msn.com, BBeall43@yahoo.com Lancaster-Wormiston Press P.O. 3. I just finished adding a new section to the Rootsweb Twigs called "New Discoveries". To get there, go to http://twigs-of-inman-spence.rootsweb.com Click on Table of Contents; look under Vol. 2, the Spencer section. This will be especially interesting to those who are looking for Parrott, Parris, Perry, and Williamson information, and I also added a Spencer update. I had a great day at the library on Thursday. Now, I'm going to play grandma and babysit tonight, so I won't be home until some time tomorrow. When I do return tomorrow, I need to seriously focus on some papers I need to grade because school starts again on Monday. Vol. 3 of Twigs will not go onto the site until summer. I won't have the time to devote to that until after school ends in May. Then I have a two or three week break before summer school begins. I want to keep this material on the website as long as possible and continue updating it. Hopefully, I won't run out of room. A Family Record of the Descendants of Sergt. Edward Hinman. Hartford: Press of Case, Tiffany and Company, 1856. It has been supposed by many of the family that Edward Inman, an early settler of Providence, in Rhode Island, was identical with Edward Hinman, of Stratford Conn., which has been an erroneous opinion, proved so by a letter from the Hon. Mr. Updike, of South Kingston, Rhode Island, and another from Chief Justice Wm. A. Staples, of Providence, Rhode Island, both historians and genealogists of a high order, by which it appears that Edward Inman was received a purchaser of Providence after January, l646; that his share in the purchase was one-quarter of a full right, such a share as many of the 101 original purchasers had. He was a commonwealth man. But enough for the present purpose is that he died at Providence, August 17, 1706, where he left a widow, Barbara, and two sons, Edward and John, named in his will; while Edward Hinman died in Stratford, Conn., in 1681, and left children,

Then I will load Vol. 2 onto the site--the Spencer portion I am currently working on. The e-mail address on the front page doesn't work--I have to mess around with that. Some of the website links may not work (another problem). But the major links all seem to be working. (I don't know about the tune. It plays fine here. I don't know how it plays on the web). 3. Believe it or not, I got the revision on line I've been working on. The only thing that doesn't work is the e-mail address on the front page. I also couldn't get my tune to play, although it plays just fine here at the house. Anyway, for a new treat, go to http://twigs-of-inman-spence.rootsweb.com Enjoy!!!
