Hi, the best way to handle tintypes is having a negative made of the Photo. That way you can have as many copies made as you want. Tintypes are a type of negative that is very reflective so they are not very good for scanning, you would be better off making a print and then scan the print. When you have this done you will see details you wouldn't believe. We did one for a friend of ours and the fathers eyes looked right though you.
