They had at least six children according to the 1880 census: James F.,16 Eliza,14 John, 10 George, 6 Charles, 4 Walter, 2 The 1900 census shows: James F. Hughes, b. Nov. 1863, age 36 Josephine Hughes b. Jan. 1873, age 27 Elias E. Hughes b. April, 1892, age 8 Hazel Hughes b. Aug. age 5 Reba Hughes b. April 1896, age 4 Leona Hughes b.
