Thomas Cartwright b. 6 Apr 1786, a native of Pasquotank, NC died 1865 in Madison Co., IN. In 1826 Thomas emigrated to Wayne Co., IN and settled in the town of Milton. Married Sarah Bathsheba Smithson born 4 Mar 1797 in NC and died abt. 1882 IN. Mathilda Helen Cartwright dau of Thomas and Sarah was born abt. 1818 NC. She married Jacob Helm b. abt. 1815 OH. They had several children of which Warren Spencer Helm is my great grandfather. Jacob was found in 1850 Van Buren Twp census as Helm and in the 1860 Boone Twp census, as Helms.
