    1. Re: [INMADISO-L] Sites of Whetsstone Gravestones Wanted
    2. Beej in AZ, Thanks for the site. I have e-mailed them with a possible site in Butler Co OH where my ancestors, a Revolutionary soldier and wife are buried. I always said the stones looked like river rock. They are a brownish color with lovely carvings and look as good as the day they were set. It is apparently very hard, as the stone for their son-in-law, also a Rev. soldier, was grown into a very, very large tree. The last time we were there, the tree had been cut down, and not a nick in the stone. We were amazed to say the least. These stones are like large tablets and are only about 2" thick. There were other stones there of similar condition. I haven't been there for at least ten years. The farmer kept plowing in a little further. Everytime we went, we would go out into the field and pick up pieces parts and bring them back into the cemetery. Couldn't get a rise out of any responsible persons in Butler County. Too bad.
