Delaware Co IN Tract Book U.S. Land Entries John Crousor of Madison Co IN, SE 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 36 T21N R8E, 40a. 8/18/1835 John Crowsor Rainsville Co SE 1/4 NW 1/4 Sec 36 T21N R8E 40a. 8/29/36 Jacob Crowsor of Del Co IN NE 1/4 NW 1/4 Sec 31 T21N R 9E 40a. 8/1/36 Stephen Crowsor of Mad Co IN SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 36 T21N R8E 40a. 4/30/36 Stephen Crouso Richardsville Co SW 1/4 NE 1/4 Sec. 36 T21N R8E 40a. 3/20/36 Sec. 36 T21 N R8E is in Harrison Tp and adjoins Madison Co to the west and adjoins Mt Pleasant Tp to the south Sec 31 T21N R9E is also in Harrison Tp and adjoins the above section to the east. Richardville County is now Howard Co IN, but extended into the western part of Grant, and perhaps Madison Co (the portion of Grant that was cut off from Grant and added to Madison Co. There may have been some surrounding counties also involved. Much of it involved "float land" / land set aside to settle Indian claims. I read a good description of this county in a Howard Co history, but don't remember all of the counties involved. Can anyone out there comment on Rainsville Co?
