Speaking of removing bodies to another cemetery-My husband's great uncle married a second time. The second wife had a burial plot in another cemetery and wanted him to be buried next to her. The children by the first marriage wanted their father to be buried next to their mother. A compromise was reached. Their mother and her tombstone would be moved to the other cemetery so that both wives would be buried next to him. The day came. The stone was removed, but only atoken shovel of dirt was taken with it. Needless to say, the children by the first marriage was quite upset. To them (and they were right) that their mother was still buried in the first cemetery, so they had a new tombstone set for her. So she now has two tombstones in different counties. This could be very confusing down the line.
