Hi, my name is Karen. The Lane I'm looking for was Delaware and was born around Sanduskey Co, OH. in 5-8-1813. Green Village Columbian Co., HO is sometimes given by other people as his birth place. Sometimes he said his fathers name was I E Lane born in Ohio, sometimes the Lain is spelled this way. Edmond Lane said he could not remember his mother. He told family that he ran away and joined a wagon train and headed west. He took the name of the family that took him in, Lane. He was only 12. He spent time in Anderson, IN, with Chief Anderson (another Delaware) and his people. He fought in the Black Hawk Indian War, his discharge was on birch bark. He traveled the country, until the Mexican War when his discharge was on sheep skin. Then in the 1850's we find him in NE and in 1855 he married to Adelpha Hoppes. In the 1860 Census has Edmond born in OH, 28 years old, a farmer with $300 and married to Delpha Hoppes. In 1860, Edmond inlisted in the Union Army in NE. He was discharged and he reinlisted and his discharged was on parchment paper. In 1880 census put Edmond at 59 and Delpha at 37, farmer living in Madison Co,.IN, birth place OH, fathers birth place NY. Their Children: Henry 20, James 17 both born in NE, Joseph 13, Mary 12, Fredrick 10, Albert 8, George 6, Cora 4, and Sarah 4. I have wonderful stories about my g g grandfather I would love to share. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Karen --------------09A503153CA1D2629EF890F7--
