How in the world would I go about finding any kind of death record for someone (my gr-gr-gr-grandmother who died in January 1864? I know the county death records don't go back nearly that far. Also does anyone have transcripts of the Madison County cemeteries, who could look and see if she is there? Her name is Eliza (MANNING) SHAW. According to her husband, James C. SHAW's Civil War pension records, she died in January 1864 in Madison County. And she is not in the cemetery where he and his second wife are buried, in Russiaville, Howard County, Indiana.
