    3. Am looking for any info on family of Iram & Sarah (Apple) Boyd. They were listed on the 1850 census in Fall Creek Township. Also found info that a Iram Boyd sold land to build school in same Township. Any info on family GRATEFULLY accepted!!! Who ever started the roll call ---- great idea. I am one of those "quiet ones" however I read all of the posts to see if there are ANY connections to my grgrgrgrandparents Iram & Sarah. Thanks! 3. I'm trying to find the relatives of Edmond Lane. He died Sept. 20, 1914 in Anderson, Madison Co., IN and is buried in the Bocco cemetery. In about 1855 The Hoppes family, that later settled in Anderson, and Edmond were in Nebraska. Henry Hoppes's daughter Delphia married Edmond. The next time we find Edmond, he is in the Civil War. When the War was over Edmond and Delphia moved to Anderson, IN. They had many Children, some are listed here: Gertrude, Harv., Hurrell, Ike, Jack, Jane, Ledger, Mary E., Albert, George, and Cora M.. Cora M. married Hartzel Heath Center Grant. Cora died young at the age of 27, she had 2 Children William Grant, and Rosa Grant. Rose married Mr. Russell and George Lail Collins. Edmond and Delphia lived on 1to2 acres of land, raised and sold vegetables and eggs in town. This peace of land was about 21st and Pit Street. A few years ago they tore down the house and were suprised to find a log cabin inside. I'm looking for any info on this family dead or alive. ( : Thank you for taking time to read this info, Karen

    1. [INMADISO-L] Re: Jonathan Webbs
    2. Hi Lou - Thanks for the information on the Webb line. I will put it on file as who knows what might comeup tomorrow that would open a new door! I am always looking for a new opening but have slowed my research at the present and have started to organize my material for another book on he Eastes line. I published "The Eastes Families of Indiana" in hardback in 1994. This book gave all the history that was available on Obadiah Eastes & Francis Harvey that was known at that time. Their youngest son Holman married Ruth Webb, my g-great grandmother. Since the book was distributed, many readers came forth and we found the Father of Obadiah Eastes was Elisha Estes/Eastes/Eastes who died in Roane Co., TN in 1818. Elisha had 8 other children and we now have many more branches to the family. This new book will cover over 1000 people and I am soliciting pictures from my Eastes contacts to be shown with their entries. I have two pictures of Ruth Webb, daughter of Jonathon Webb and wife of Holman Eastes that will be included in this book. I would like to to know more about Ruth's line but I am not getting any younger and I feel I should document what I have in my files so it will not be lost. Thanks again for your information Best Regards Roy Eastes Gulfport, MS <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< END >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> When we record our heritage we take great pride in looking at our list of ancestors and admire their origins, migrations and accomplishments. But, what good is it - unless it’s true? We need stories and rumors, they are great and often lead to the truth! BUT - Help eliminate errors. Don't take anything as Fact! Check references for validity! If we don’t our children’s children will be led down false trails and they will never be able to find their true heritage.

    2. Hi Roy, You may have all of this info, but here are a few notes that I made many years ago, and thought I would toss it at you. I discontinued researching the Webb family when I proved that the wife of Jonathan Webb was not a daughter of Nathan Lewis as stated in LFP. Jonathan Webb reputedly the son of the Revolutionary Soldier, Jonathan Webb, buried Decatur Co IN Since I never pursued this, but as early as Jonathan Webb & wife Ruth died, he may have been the Revolutionary soldier?. Jonathan Webb purchased land in Posey Tp. Franklin Co IN, 23 Feb 1814, near the Decatur Co line - W 1/2 SE 1/4 Sec 32 T12N R12E, 80a. By his will probated, 13 Nov 1826, 6:145,146, Franklin Co IN, Jonathan devised this land to his wife, Ruth. Ruth's will probated, 24 Nov 1827, B1:15-17, Ruth devised this land to her son Elijah C Webb who was to maintain his unmarried sister, Nancy, with residual legatees being her children, Abel, Joseph, Ruth and Rachel. Ruth does not mention 10 children, however, 11 Feb 1833, Elijah C Webb and Robert Simpson & wife Nancy, formerly Ruth Webb legal heir of Ruth Webb, each quit-claimed their 1/10 interest to Hugh Brison. Another note I found, Ruth was reputedly the daughter of Elijah Cross of Sullivan Co TN. This is all I have. Lou in Indiana

    2. Dear Micki, You are right! We have corresponded before. I remember the name James Robinson, now. I have over 3000 stored e-mails from and for people I'm researching for. Eugene corresponded for years with a researcher from Adams County named Ann JOHNSON. Her correspondence [delightful...because she was using carbon paper to make copies...she never goes back to erase for corrections...but keeps on talking and corrects as she types. She throws in things like she had to "take a break for awhile to put up 40 quarts of beans that just wouldn't wait" or she would have spent longer scrambling through the waist hish weeds in a country farm cemetery,,,but the snakes scared her off. Anyway, I want to take another crack at those books which have been donated to the Adams County Historical and Genealogical Society....and see if I can find more re the REEVES line. Nikki

    2. You should be able to find "The WARDS" with a baby, Florence Emma in the 1860 census of College Corner, OHIO. If you can't find College Corner on a current map, try looking for it on Topozone.com...to see which county census you would need. [Actually I just looked it up: it's in Preble County. Good luck Nikki

    2. Nikki, I think we have communicated before. Yes our line does have Asa Reeves. I have quite a bit on both the Madison-Hancock Co (some Rush Co) and the Barthomew-Brown County Reeves. I believe there is some connection but I am not sure where. There is an Eli in the Brown County line as well. I am trying to find my grandfather, James Robinson Reeves born in Fortville, Indiana. I will have to get the info out and get it to you later if you are interested. We are having thunder and the UPS just beeped telling me there was a break in the electric line so I'll stop here. I am on a notebook, but don't want anything else to happen. Will write later. Rebecca REED REEVES had, among others, two sisters, Lydia who married Joseph LUNBECK [daughter Susan] and Mary "Polly" REED who married John EDMISTEN [son Samuel Q.]. Susan and Samuel Q. married and became my great-greatgrandparents. Rebecca REED also had a sister named Angeline who married Asa REEVES brother, Eli. Many of the REEVES line moved to Rush County, IN and scattered from there. Nikki NICKELL >>

    3. Hi, My Great Grandmother was a Carroll her name is Lora, (Laura) She was married to George Simmonds they had two Children Velma and Ernie Simmonds Ernie is my Grandfather. Lora died when the kids were really little and George remarried. My Grandfather past away before I was born and my Grandmother can not remember anything. So I don't know when she died or why? I assume that since my Grandfather was little it was around 1912 or so when she died. I think one summer I will need to take a trip to Indiana and find some thing out. I know that my grandfather was raised in Fisherburg area but that about it. 3. Here is the problem I have with my Ward line. I had a ggGrandmother by the name of Florence Emma Alvey. Her parents were Charles and Sara (Ward) Alvey. The lived in Elwood, Indiana. She died 18 months after she had Florence. Charles died in the Civil War and Florence was raised by her Grandparents "The Wards'" from College Corner, Ohio. I have no idea what their first names are. If any of this rings a chime we could be related. I know this is really far out but that is it. Florence was born in 1857.
