    1. Re: [INMADISO-L] Sites of Whetsstone Gravestones Wanted
    2. Beej in AZ, Thanks for the site. I have e-mailed them with a possible site in Butler Co OH where my ancestors, a Revolutionary soldier and wife are buried. I always said the stones looked like river rock. They are a brownish color with lovely carvings and look as good as the day they were set. It is apparently very hard, as the stone for their son-in-law, also a Rev. soldier, was grown into a very, very large tree. The last time we were there, the tree had been cut down, and not a nick in the stone. We were amazed to say the least. These stones are like large tablets and are only about 2" thick. There were other stones there of similar condition. I haven't been there for at least ten years. The farmer kept plowing in a little further. Everytime we went, we would go out into the field and pick up pieces parts and bring them back into the cemetery. Couldn't get a rise out of any responsible persons in Butler County. Too bad. 2. LIST OWNER THIS IS OFF TOPIC YOU MAY DELETE IF YOU SO DESIRE. IT DOES NOT HAVE SURNAMES OR ST OR CO NAMES. I found the following on another list and thought this might be a bit of GENEALOGY TRIVIA that would be of interest to some. Me I have printed out several and put one in several of my genealogy notebooks that are used frequently, that way I don't have to run to one all the time if a postage date is in question. Beej : Fri, 25 Feb 2000 09:57:29 -0500 From: Judy Nordgren <JNordgren@KORYUBOOKS.COM> Subject: Stamps on old letters Do you have a stash of old family letters with blurred unreadable postmarks and no dates inside? These postal rate changes will help a little on dating those old letters. July 1, 1885 2 cents Nov 3, 1917 3 cents July 1, 1919 2 cents July 6, 1932 3 cents Aug 1, 1958 4 cents Jan 7, 1963 5 cents May 16, 1971 8 cents Mar 2, 1974 10 cents and up I was not aware of the change up and down from 2 to 3 cents and that fact explains some of my dating problems. I read this information in a newspaper back in Jan when they were proposing a new postal increase.

Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2000 23:33:38 -0600 A friend sent it to me and asked that it be shared. Good information to be kept in mind. Hope you never need it. Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home, (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home; unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. What can you do? You've been trained in CPR but the guy that taught the course neglected to tell you how to perform it on yourself. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed in order.) Without help the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and veryvigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a phone and, between breaths, call for help. Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives! > > From Health Cares, Roches
