Jan: Email me at the library where I work and I will check the cemetery records. pleedom@and.lib.in.us Ovid is in Adams Township in the south east part of the county. Phyllis Leedom
Jim: Not yet but there will be later this year. The Anderson Public Library got a grant to do this and should have it done this summer or so. Don't hold me to that timetable but it is our hope. In the meantime if there is anything I can look up for you just email me at the library and I'll be glad to do so. My email at the library is - pleedom@and.lib.in.us Phyllis Leedom
Is The Bronnemberg Cem in Chesterfield on Line or is there a list available to view? same question for the Cem at the Chesterfield Airport any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim R.Swimming with mermaids nioio@gate.net
How would I go about finding the burial place of someone who died in 1864? I'm looking for my gr-gr-gr-grandmother, Eliza Manning Shaw. According to my gr-gr-gr-grandfather's Civil War pension records, she died in January 1864 in Ovid, Madison County. He is buried in Russiaville, Indiana, with his second wife and Eliza is not there. So I thought she might be buried near where she died. But I can't get a death certificate back that far. What is the best route to take? Also, where is Ovid located? Thanks, Jan Rader Kent, OH

I have the papers that the Anderson Madison Co., IN., Library has if you know what they are. As soon as I can get my papers out I'll let you know and we can compare if needed. I really don't have to much more than the papers from the library at this time...just on hubby's grandparents. It is good to find another one of his cousins on line. :) Nice to meet you too. Good luck searching, Marcie in Madison Co.,IN.. >

I had the same problem, but then discovered the answer. Do NOT include the period that is at the end of the URL address. Once I left that off in my "copy and paste" attempts, it went through. Joan Derry MDMama2841@aol.com Searching DERRY (Dairy, Darry) and KINGEN names in Madison County, Indiana

yes, I, too, have same problem.
I ran across an interesting site yesterday that I thought could help someone doing research in Madison Co., IN. The "History of Madison County Indiana", Volume II, Compiled by John L. Forkner is on this site. I was delighted to find it. I have a McDermit relative listed! The site is: www.accessgenealogy.com/indiana/madison/index.htm . Good hunting!
