The only Pettigrews I know of are Vier Pettigrew, born about 1915?? He had several children, one was Guy. He married my aunt, Bertha Swinford. I have a family photo if anyone is interested. It shows some other Pettigrew children of that marriage but I don't know their names. Philip Swinford, PhilSford@aol.com
LAWS IN AZ. AND MINN are completley out of line with other states. In obtaining a death certificate. Who are they trying to protect a person that has been dead for 20 years. These two states only heart a person trying to do Genealogy.
The National Directory of Morticians The RED BOOK http://www.funeral-dir.com/ There is an online data base that can be searched. The initial one I had no problem with but this is direct off the site so is better yet. I would believe that from the time it was published in RootsWeb Review there was some adjusting. Remember that the original post I made they reported that if the records were not found here they could be at the city clerk, local library or historic society. At least that gives you places to check on and not a dead end. Beej in AZ Sorry for any inconvience with the previous post I sent.
You may be a subscriber of ROOTSWEB , disregard if so. You research many family names, thought you may want to consider this. I think it's a book ? of Morticians past and present, not sure. Anyway for your consideration. ---------- >The following is from the 13 Jan 1999 Vol. 2 #2 Rootsweb Review > >Directory of Morticians >http://www.funeral-dir.com/home_page.htm > >If mortuary is no longer in business, its files maybe in the custody of the >county clerk, the local library, or the local Historical Society. >There is more to the article but this was the important info I felt. >Where to find the article I have given if you desire more reading. > >An article written by Brian Mavrogeorge >Senior Develoment Manager >The Learning Company >Ultimate Family Tree --- http://www uftree.com

Can anyone do a look up to see if there is an article in an old Elwood newspaper for August 13-16, 1885 for Fred or William Goin being killed by a train? Or tell me where to write for such an article? Thanks Carol

Brandi, can you give me some more information about the Pettigrews in Madison County, such as names or the area they lived in and their occupations, if you know them.
