Hi, my name is Karen. The Lane I'm looking for was Delaware and was born around Sanduskey Co, OH. in 5-8-1813. Green Village Columbian Co., HO is sometimes given by other people as his birth place. Sometimes he said his fathers name was I E Lane born in Ohio, sometimes the Lain is spelled this way. Edmond Lane said he could not remember his mother. He told family that he ran away and joined a wagon train and headed west. He took the name of the family that took him in, Lane. He was only 12. He spent time in Anderson, IN, with Chief Anderson (another Delaware) and his people. He fought in the Black Hawk Indian War, his discharge was on birch bark. He traveled the country, until the Mexican War when his discharge was on sheep skin. Then in the 1850's we find him in NE and in 1855 he married to Adelpha Hoppes. In the 1860 Census has Edmond born in OH, 28 years old, a farmer with $300 and married to Delpha Hoppes. In 1860, Edmond inlisted in the Union Army in NE. He was discharged and he reinlisted and his discharged was on parchment paper. In 1880 census put Edmond at 59 and Delpha at 37, farmer living in Madison Co,.IN, birth place OH, fathers birth place NY. Their Children: Henry 20, James 17 both born in NE, Joseph 13, Mary 12, Fredrick 10, Albert 8, George 6, Cora 4, and Sarah 4. I have wonderful stories about my g g grandfather I would love to share. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Karen --------------09A503153CA1D2629EF890F7--
Marci: Tried to email you at work this morning and later this afternoon discovered it didn't go through. Will try to remember what I typed. Jacob Richwine (that I'm interested in) was born 1767 in North Carolina. Came to Madison County 1820's. Had several sons. Does that help to identify the Jacob I need? Phyllis
Yes, that would be great. The obituary I need now but the other newspaper articles can wait until you get back to Cincy.

Hi - my g-grandfather, John Lafayette JOHNSON, lived around Anderson in the early 1900s-1930. He was born in Rush Co. His son, my g-father,Glen R. JOHNSON, was born Nov. 21, 1898 outside of Anderson. His brother, Letus W. JOHNSON, was born in 1880's & died 1915 - had epilepsy & lots of fits. Am looking for any info. Also my g-grandmother, Katie BLAZER, was born close to Stoney Creek twp & moved to Ohio in 1930 because of ill health. She died May 20, 1930 & is buried in Anderson. They used to be members of Central Christian in (North) Anderson. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Dear Phyllis, The good thing about having to "care" for my mother-in-law, is that even approaching her 90th birthday...the care consists of cooking two meals a day [my husband does breakfast] and being there at night. The rest of the day I spend in glorious! grave dancing, court house "dusting" and whatever library strikes my fancy for the day. I'll be happy to do some Cincinnati snooping for you....one of my top ten favorite genealogy libraries. we'll keep in touch. Nikki
Hi Phyllis, Ok, I'm searching my WAYMIRE line here, but I have to have more info. to go on. Can you give me approx. dates (yr.) on these 4 men ? I have to many Jacob's to know which one you want. I also have a Jacob Ellet and he may be the Elliott you are needing as I find no other Elliott (yet). I have tons of pages (as you know) on the Waymire line and I'll help you any way I can. It is very likely that this is my great grandfather. Thank you so much for looking this up. I would imagine that Anna did die later but I have nothing at this point to document this. To my knowledge, no one from this family is still alive or if they are they are no longer in Madison County. I've written letters and sent emails to every Ohler I can find in that area and no answers from any of them. Might be why my dad never heard of them, since the family does not appear to have been close at all. I'll be anxiously awaiting to see if Anna is discovered in the Elwood City Cemetery. I would send you more information if I had it but the only way I got her name was from my great uncle's social security application. Thanks so much for being so great to look up this information for me. Barb, Thank you so much for looking this information up. At this point and time, I am grasping at everything to find my dad's family. Most of whom are dead, I'm afraid. He never met his father's family, save for one uncle, Clinton, whom he met two times, and his father never mentioned their names. I only found out my grandfather and his twin, Clinton, were born in Elwood and my great grandparent's names from Clinton's social security application. I've written to every OHLER in Anderson, Indiana, enclosing a self-addressed, stamped envelope but that was eight months ago and there have been no replies. I'm holding onto this information because even if they don't tie in with my family, they will surely tie in with another Ohler family I will eventually run into. I really do appreciate any and all help. Thanks! Nikki: How interesting that you have connection with so many of the families I have chosen to talk about. Looking forward to meeting you in the spring. Would you be interested or have time to do some reseach down Cincy way? I need someone to go to the Cincy Public Library to get 1 obituary and a news story. Phyllis
Marci: I'll have to check the file when I go into work in a few hours. Don't have dates in my head. Phyllis

Dear Phyllis, Sigh! I won't be able to come hear your talk in February...but maybe you'll be making another one in April, May or June when we go to Ohio for three months [and it 's faster to get to Anderson from near Cincinnati now than it was when we lived in Anderson...and would scoot to Cincy to see our folks on the weekends...1956-1958]. But, if you can use any of this material....from the older generations, I'm happy to share. I was going to jibe you about if you had just chosen the RICHWINE family, you would have covered about all the names in Madison County. Of the names you listed, DESCENDANTS of the RICHWINES include CHAMNESS, HUNTZINGER, WISE, BUSBY...and Ann WEYMEYER. Jacob RICHWINE probably was not in Madison County...but they were very early into Wayne County...and the kids were in just about every township, and surrounding counties as well. I hope to make at least one trip up to Anderson [and I'm anxious to see if I can access Eugene BOCK'S papers re/////; another branch of my family. It always delights me to see your name attached to an e-mail in the forum, and I'm looking forward to meeting you next spring. Good luck with your talk. BTW, I have photographs of Jacob's son Gideon, and his son Allen...and his son Frank etc and their wives. One really interesting twist I find...is that some of the photographs were taken by Cicero REESE...one of the names connected with Eugene BOCKS [and my] ancestors from Brown County, OHIO. Isn't that just cool? Nikki NICKELL Snoqualmie Pass, WA
Marilyn, Any first names for the Mowrey/Mowery families? I might be able to help if I had first names. Linda E.
