They traveled to SW PA -- then to Elwood area of Madison County, Indiana and settled in Adams County, Illinois. Possibility that either a brother or father was named CARLISLE DERRY (unconfirmed). 2. Nita Pearce
    3. Hello; I am new to this list and am looking for information on the John Wesley Beebe family of Elwood. John Beebe died in 1938 leaving children, Earl, Bertha, Gertrude. Gracie and Jessella. Brother-in-law, William L. Thorpe. I am in possession of a letter he wrote in May of 1937 stating that he had compiled a history of his Beebe line "even into intiquity". This letter was sent to a lady in Lewes, DE, saying he was sure they were of the same Beebe line. If anyone knows of this, please send message. Thank you so much. Nita Biby Pearce [email protected]

    1. [INMADISO-L] Name change, Jones, Collins, Endsley, Craig
    2. Some on the list were discussing name changes. I run across an undated newspaper clipping about changing names. I think it probably dates early 1900's. "The names of two young women, both stenographers, were changed by order of Judge Robert F. Murray yesterday in Superior Court. Ella Margararet Jones, 19, employed as stenographer in the office of the superintendent of the Michigan state prison, was given the name of Collins, in compliance with her petition. She has been known by the latter name since childhood. Her parents were separated when she was an infant and later the mother married a man by the name of Collins. Only the mother appeared in court to present the petition of the daughter. Avis Jean Endsley had her name changed to Craig." I think the Margaret was married to a Stevenson/Stephenson? and died about 20 years ago when quite elderly and was buried in one of the Salem Township cemeteries in Delaware Co IN.

    3. Steve V. wrote: <Then the Madison County Cemetery Commission restored the cemetery. They have done a great job all over the county.> I have been wanting to visit the Madison Co. area to find information about my grandfather who died in Frankton in 1904. I never learned where he was buried. My mother said that the last time she visited the cemetery it was very neglected and never wanted to go back. This was probably about 1920-1925. Does anyone on the list have information about a cemetery in/around Frankton that has been restored and is there a list of burials? I would appreciate any information that would give me a head start by pointing me in the right direction. I must add that I am not very knowledgeable about genealogy. I have not written for a death certificate. Would the cemetery be named on the death certificate?

    3. Hi, your right. The people who live there were very kind to us when we went to visit. They told us that a storm had come though and had done damage to the stones and trees. Then the Madison County Cemetery Commission restored the cemetery. They have done a great job all over the county. It is a very beautiful place. 1. [INMADISO-L] Faussett Cemetery
    2. The Faussett Cemetery in Madison County on Rd 1050 south about one-fourth mile west of IN Hwy. 13 was restored by the Madison County Cemetery Commission last year. They cleaned out an old fence, cleared out the trees, weeds, and underbrush, reset the stones, and put up a new fence. The cemetery location has been known for some time but necessary preparation had to be made and all that remains is for a standard sign to be placed. Thanks should go to the Commission composed of John Brundage, chairman, Robert Hains, Ranny Simmons, Georgia Lyons, and Nancy Draper.
