    1. [INMADISO-L] Sullivan & Sayre OH & IN--LONG
    2. Sherril Erfurth
    3. Here are some of the answers that were requested for the SULLIVAN & SAYRE families. For those who are interested in this family I have sources but did not include them on the maillist. It would make it too, too long. Please note,I have NOT proved the parents to be Dennis & Caty--yet but all evidence is pointing that way. I am a professional researcher but this is my own line.My father was Ralph H. Sullivan, Jr. I would like to exchange info with others. I have not actively worked on this for some time. 1. [INMADISO-L] Re: INMADISO-D ~~THE BOOKMARK ~~#97
    2. Hi all. I called The Bookmark today and got some good info and permission to pass it along and share it. The lady I talked to there was Bonnie and she was very nice and gave me much info. There is another lady there and her name is Guinn. To start with here is the mailing address The Bookmark P.O.Box 90 Knightstown, IN 46148-0090 Physical address to find in town is 36 Public Square Local phone no. 765-345-5133 Ex. 170 Long Distance is !-800-876-5133 Ex. 170 I didn't have this so the call cost me. Had good talk and was worth it. Hrs. M-F 8 am - 4:30 pm Lunch 12 to 12:30 CST There is no catalog available now as they have combined some things, sold some things and I will not go into all that. Anyway things are changing and moving so that is why no catalog at present. I had her put my name in when they became available. They do research there at a charge and if you desire this you can get charges then as they vary as to what is wanted researched. Don't know the address for the Museum but it is on N. 14th St. and not to far from Broad Street. Maybe 3 or 4 blocks on the east side of the street a red brick structure. The New Castle Historic Museum is on line e-mail address is: [email protected] WebSite for NCHM is: www.newcastlein.com/museum Curator is Joan Paul Phone No. 765-529-4028 She failed to give me zip and there was not one in the post that had the address the first time so I looked in the zip+4 one line and found it. This is that URL if anyone needs it. http://www.framed.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/lookup_zip+4.html Well guess that is all can't find anything in my notes that seems to be missing. Had a good time with the call. Print this out and keep it. Beej in AZ

    2. Hi! The Indiana gebweb page seems to be experiencing difficulties, so I'm posting a query here to see if the names Lloyd SNOWDEN, A.K. DEETS or George and Amanda CHITTENDEN are familiar to anyone. I have some Christams cards that were sent to my great grandmother...probably sometime around 1925 [when my gtgrandparents moved to North Webster, IN] to 1931 [when greatgrandma died]. The cards may have been sent from Anderson, Madison County, IN or from Koskiusko...[sp?] County. Nikki NICKELL

    3. I am not sure at this point if or how they connect. My husband's great great grandfather was John Franklin Hughes (1869-1938). John's parents were Joseph and Martha Hughes. John married Ruthie Lucetta Beckley in 1890, and they had five children: Nola (our line), Raymond, Chester, E. Wayne and Hazel. John was born and buried in Frankton. I'll keep your names on hand and let you know if I bump into anyone. Thanks for replying, Melissa -----Original Message----- From: Karen S. 1. [INMADISO-L] Answer to "Missing in 1850 IN census" & Vital Records info
    2. Found this at http://www.ancestry.com/learn/reference/state/in.htm Factsheet Census Records Federal censuses for the state of Indiana began in 1820, continuing every ten years and currently available through 1920; the mostly destroyed 1890 census being excluded. The 1820 census is missing for the county of Daviess, and the 1870 & 1910 censuses are currently unindexed. It is also noted that many rural residents were missed in the 1850 census, though appear on the 1850 agricultural enumerations. An 1807 territorial census exists and has been published, as has one for 1810 (for Harrison County only). Few state censuses are available. Vital Records Birth and death records were began on a county basis for Indiana in 1882. State level registration began for births in October, 1907, and in January, 1900 for deaths. Marriage records have been mandatory on a county level since before 1800. For birth records before 1907, death records before 1900, and for marriage records, write to the county clerk of the county in question. For birth records after 1907 and death records after 1900, write: Indiana State Department of Health Vital Records Section 2 North Meridian Street Indianapolis, IN 46204

    2. Hi everyone ! The Bookmark Book Store in Knightstown, IN carrys many historical books and Atlases. I do not know the address as it has been lost in my files. However, as/of 6 December 1999 their phone number was - (765) 345-5133. I had called at that date to orders some books for my library. They were suppose to be getting ready to publish a new catalog. If anyone finds out that it's available, please drop me a line to - [email protected] Best Regards to all Roy Eastes Gulfport, MS <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< END >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> When we record our heritage we take great pride in looking at our list of ancestors and admire their origins, migrations and accomplishments. But, what good is it - unless it’s true? We need stories and rumors, they are great and often lead to the truth! BUT - Help eliminate errors. Don't take anything as Fact! Check references for validity! If we don’t our children’s children will be led down false trails and they will never be able to find their true heritage.

    3. The address & phone for the Monroe Twp Trustee is 202 W. Washington St., Alexandria, IN 46001 (765) 724-3634. I believe the trustee is still Jack Bowers. The Alexandria-Monroe Twp. Historical Society may have a listing of all burials in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. They do not have a telephone. Travis LeMaster ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen S. 2. Marcie Which Davis line are you following in Madison Co IN. My line is Asa Davis born 1818 in OH. He was married in 1846 to Mary Jane Branson of Delaware Co IN. Asa was living in Madison Co as early as 1838 and continued up until 1864.. Have been trying for a long time to find his parents names but no luck. Any ideas or clues much appreciated especially for Davis families living in Madison Co during that time and having lived previously in OH. Thanks Eldon Davis

I bought it from The Book Mark in Knightstown, IN many years ago but may still be available. My ancestors are listed on pages 52, 53, and 54. It is indexed and I will do lookups in this book if anyone wishes. Best Regards Roy Eastes Gulfport, MS <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< END >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> When we record our heritage we take great pride in looking at our list of ancestors and admire their origins, migrations and accomplishments. But, what good is it - unless it’s true? We need stories and rumors, they are great and often lead to the truth! BUT - Help eliminate errors. Don't take anything as Fact! Check references for validity! If we don’t our children’s children will be led down false trails and they will never be able to find their true heritage.

    2. Hi Karen, Where was your FINK family around 1800? My Sarah Fink married early 1800 to Amos Bunner in Monongalia Co (W)VA. John Bunner gave consent for "my son, Amos, to marry Sarah Fink/Finch , an orphan." There were Fink's there during the Revolutionary War and in the adjoining Fayette & Washington counties in PA, but have been unable to connect with any of them. I had some leads to Ohio and also Kentucky, but have found no connection. Amos Bunner and Sarah Fink were my 3rd gr grparents. Lou in Indiana.
