    1. [INMADISO-L] Forestville Cemetery
    2. Sherril Erfurth
    3. Lou, According to my instructions, that were still good in 1990: "Go north on St. Rd 9 out of Alexandria for about 5 miles to Summitville Road. Going east takes you to Summitville; although you should turn west. West leads you to Forrestville around 6 miles. Turn into cemetery at furthest west entry. A short distance in, park your car at William & Eunice Sullivan headstone, which is a large one on the left of the road. Walk west a short distance and on your left is an old cement truck of tree with a scroll, whic is Uncle Doc's [John Sullivan, son of Thomas] It is not far from the outside road--this is the old part of the cemetery and you are surrounded with Sullivans and their ancestors." I have never been there but if you go and find Thomas & Hannah's I would appreciate a copy of the photos. Sulley __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 2. A. R.
    3. I received this today and since I'm a relative newcomer to genealogy I had never seen this before. Thought I would share it with my friends who would understand it. Aneice Thoughts on Genealogy -------------------------------------------------------------------- Genealogy: Tracing yourself back to better people. I trace my family history so I will know who to blame. Can a first cousin, once removed, return? Searching for lost relatives? Win the lottery! Every family tree has some sap in it. Genealogy: A haystack full of needles. It's the threads I need. Heredity: Everyone believes in it until their children act like fools. I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom. Theory of relativity: If you go back far enough, we're all related.

    1. [INMADISO-L] Illinois Marriages 1763-1900
    2. Thanks Susie Whatley for this great site! Been waiting on it for a long time. Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763–1900 An Ongoing Project of the Illinois State Archives & the Illinois State Genealogical Society http://www2.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/marriage This project IS as it says, ongoing (incomplete). This Index takes patience and fortitude. Similar spellings are not grouped together. Exact spelling as it appears in the record is required. A problem when one has found 17 variations of a surname spelling (and there may be others). Then you have to check the surname for both bride and groom. Complain, complain. Just can't make everybody happy. There is one for EARLY Indiana, but only to 1850, Complain, complain. However, the records are more easily accessible. http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/indiana/genealogy/mirr.html Does anyone know of other state marriage records online? I need something else to complain about. LOL [email protected]

    3. |Donna, | |I was very excited to see your post about John and Virginia (Morris) |Beckley. They are my husband's great great great grandparents. Our direct |line comes through their daughter Ruthie Lucetta Beckley (who married John |Franklin Hughes). I don't have much information on John and Virginia, but I |do have some on Ruthie and her husband. Ruthie was born January 24, 1869, |so the earlier marriage date you listed is probably the correct one. I know |Ruthie had a sister, but I don't know what her name was (she was married to |a J. 1. [INMADISO-L] OHLER, KENDEL, BRUMFIELD
    2. A. R.
    3. I'm researching OHLER, KENDEL, BRUMFIELD in Madison and Tipton Counties. I have one elusive great uncle, William Ervin Ohler, whom I've not been able to track down past the census inTipton County where he was 11 years old. After that, we know he was in Madison County because my grandfather and his twin were born in Madison County in November 1880. My ggrandmother Susan Anna Williams Ohler also disappeared after my grandfather died in 1900. Aneice Ohler Rodriguez

    1. [INMADISO-L] HUSTON
    2. Joann Jameson
    3. The Madison county name that I am researching is HUSTON. Samuel HUSTON and wife Sarah (Sally) WERTS moved to Madison county ca 1840 from Wayne County, IN. Prior to that they lived for many years in Preble county OH. Both were born in PA in the 1790s and married in Preble Co. They moved to Henry county, IN in the early 1870s. I'm having a major computer problem so can't be more specific at this time with full dates (am using a friend's computer to download my e-mail, but can't get into my files).
