THE TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 1988 Buddy Stancombe INDIANAPOLIS - Former Lawrence County resident Buddy Lee Stancombe, 56, 2301 Moreland, Indianapolis, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday at Hendricks County Hospital in Danville. He was born Sept. 11, 1931 in Bedford to Clifford and Pearl Brown Stancombe. He married Oleta Baker. He was a retired Iron Worker with local 22, Indianapolis and a member of the National Muzzle Loaders Association and Ironworkers 22, of Indianapolis. Survivors include three sons; Stephen, Clifton and Gregory Stancombe, all of Bedford; one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Laura) Phelps, Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one brother, Robert Stancombe, R. 16, Bedford. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty, Laveta and Frieda and two brothers, Osbert and Cecil, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Donald Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Leesville Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by members of Gillen Post 33, American Legion. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday. Pall bearers will be: Darren Stancombe, Daniel Stancombe, Timothy Stancombe, Monte Terry, Danny Hall and Joey Hall.
