    3. Daily Mail, Bedford, Indiana, Wednesday, May 13, 1914 Peter L. Hawkins September 9, 1855 - May 7, 1914 The funeral of Peter Hawkins of Norman Station, who died suddenly Thursday, was conducted from the Church of Christ Saturday. The large crowd and the melancholy attitude of his acquaintances will indicate the esteem in which he was held here. Mr. Hawkins was born and raised in this community and had led an exemplary life. Rev. Williams in his funeral discourse well portrayed the family life from early pioneer days. He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Mary Mikels Hawkins, six children: James of Walnut, Ind.; John of Bartlettsville; Hovey, of Bedford; Mary, of Bartlettsville; Gertrude, of Fort Wayne; and Mrs. Noble Ross, of Heltonville; Three brothers, Abraham, William, and Polk and two sisters, Mrs. Sabrey McPike, and Mrs. Nancy Meadows.
