THE TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA FRIDAY, AUGUST 19, 1988 William P. Quackenbush, 81, 415 Jackson St., Bedford, died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday at the Bedford Medical Center. He had been in failing health for two years. He was born Aug. 17, 1907, in Lawrence County, to Harry P. and. Clara McKnight Quackenbush. He married Wilma Deckard July 3, 1930, in Bedford, and she survives. He worked in carpentry and construction and was a member of Donica Church of God. Surviving with the wife are one son, Howard Quackenbush, Bedford, and two brothers; Fred Quackenbush, Bedford, and Morris Quackenbush, Tacoma, Wash. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie, a brother, Vernon, and his parents. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, the Revs. Farrell Sowder and Myron Myers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 pm today.
